WDBJ7 Covers “Angel’s Perch”

Two years in the making, independent film wraps in West Virginia

Angel’s Perch showcases Cass, West Virginia and focuses on a family’s struggle with Alzheimer’s disease

“The scene required a special touch, skipping stones across the Greenbrier River. While actress Ashley Jones took aim, a member of the crew, just off camera, fired away.

“We’ve got it figured out,” J. T. Arbogast joked. “Movie magic. We’ve got it figured out.”
Arbogast has been plugging away on Angel’s Perch for more than two years, writing the script, raising money through the website Kickstarter, producing with his wife Kim Dilts.

A scenic corner of West Virginia, and a serious look at Alzheimer’s Disease come together in the independent film. Last weekend, the cast and crew shot their final scenes in the Pocahontas County community of Cass.”

Film Tells West Virginia Small-Town Story

“MARLINTON – Hold onto your popcorn: a band of Los Angeles filmmakers are shooting a movie in Pocahontas County that does not involve coal miners, moonshiners or murderous hillbillies.

Instead, “Angel’s Perch” is about small-town life, family ties and big-city ambition.

Screenwriter J.T. Arbogast, who also is co-producing and starring in the film, has deep ties to the Mountain State. He said he wanted to present a more accurate portrait of West Virginia life than television and movies usually provide.”
